NCI is considered the worldwide standard for crisis prevention and intervention training. With a core philosophy of providing for the Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security of everyone involved in a crisis situation, the program’s proven strategies give education the skill to safely and effectively respond to anxious, hostile, or violent behavior. This training includes in-person hands-on training to practice and demonstrate mastery of restrictive (physical) interventions. Please wear closed toe shoes and comfortable attire.

This training provides essential information and highlights best practices for administering the CAA for Science, as well as the CAAs for English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA) and Mathematics.

This professional development session will equip attendees with practical strategies to integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) into their daily classroom routines using the Second Step curriculum as a foundation. We'll also explore the five core competencies of the CASEL Framework—self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making—and discuss how they are woven throughout the Second Step program and how we can infuse them throughout the day with students.
