This professional development session is rooted in Dr. Shawn Ginwright's book, The Four Pivots: Reimagining Justice, Reimagining Ourselves, though no prior knowledge of the contents of the book is required.

In Pivot #1, participants will explore how their personal biases, assumptions, and past experiences influence their perceptions and decision-making. The goal is to help individuals develop the ability to pause, self-regulate, and realign their actions with their core values, fostering a more intentional and impactful leadership style.

Who Should Attend:

All FSUSD staff who have completed the Healing-Centered Engagement Certification and are looking to reconnect with their passion and purpose in this important work.

With a core philosophy of providing for the Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security of everyone involved in a crisis situation, the program’s proven strategies give education the skill to safely and effectively respond to anxious, hostile, or violent behavior. This training includes in-person hands-on training to practice and demonstrate mastery of restrictive (physical) interventions. Please wear closed toe shoes and comfortable attire.

Please Note: Para Educators are given priority in this course due to job requirements.
